Kano State Investment and Properties Limited
KSIP is a development finance company wholly owned by the Government of Kano State of Nigeria. Established under the Companies and Allied Matters Decree of 1971 as a limited liability company, it was created with the mandate of promoting commercial and industrial activity across the state.
Kano State Government exercises its exclusive right in the appointment of the governing Board and the Managing Director. The company was reorganised in 1976 following the Al-Hakim Commission of Inquiry into Kano State Government-owned institutions, and renamed KSIP in 1978 to reflect its expanded responsibilities.
With the creation of Jigawa State from former Kano State in 1991, KSIP's assets were divided between the two states on a 54/46 ratio. Today, KSIP maintains a strong working relationship with the Ministry of Finance as its supervising ministry.
